Built as a planned garden city, Forest Hills Gardens is a beautiful community located in the borough of Queens in New York City.

Developed in the early 1900's, the neighborhood, consisting of 142 acres, nearly 6,000 residents, 880 homes, and eleven apartment buildings, is one of the most exclusive areas in the borough.

Designed by renowned landscape designer Frederic Law Olmsted, Jr., Forest Hills Gardens is simply beautiful, comprised of winding streets, multiple parks, and uniquely designed mini-Mansion like English Garden Style, Tudor, Colonial, and Victorian homes.  Forest Hills Gardens feels like a small and elegant village tucked into a big city. 

Forest Hills Gardens is a private community without gates but with private roads and lush green spaces. 

The community is overseen and managed by the Forest Hills Gardens Corporation (FHGC).

The FHGC is the managing body of the community with an elected Board of Directors.  The Corporation’s mandate is to preserve the character and spirit of the community including its historic nature, streets, sites and structures. 
Residents of Forest Hills Gardens are bound by the Covenants and Restrictions of the FHGC including the legal requisite to obtain prior approval from the Architectural Committee of the Board of Directors prior to making alterations to sites or structures including the exteriors of their own homes. 
The FHGC owns the street and sewers, and ensures that the buildings adhere to their original designs. 

The Corporation also ensures that the streets of Forest Hills Gardens remain private for residents and provides security patrols, tree maintenance, events and activities, general maintenance as well as order and organization in the community.
